When an event occurs at the site, the SNMP issues a trap message to notify the administrator at the central site. Notification could be in the form of an alarm, a clear, or simply a status message. The trap message is generated by an agent (an application in SNMPv3) and sent to a manager. For standard SNMP traps, there are seven trap numbers, where each trap number stands for a special event and trap ID. Moxa's SNMP I/O provides an advanced SNMP Trap with binding I/O status. For example, the SNMP information may show "Door Open". It provides user more flexible alarming. The built-in intelligence I/O originates the SNMP Trap activity in real time. It is can be defined by user-defined event and message.
