Cellular I/O Solutions

Using cellular networks for data acquisition has become an attractive option for many engineers, particularly since cellular networks can be used for applications that have devices spread out over a wide area in hard-to-wire locations. However, a lack of understanding of the strengths and limitations of cellular networks, as well as how to set up the equipment, has caused many engineers to reject the cellular solution outright. This is perhaps the main reason people are excited about the release of Moxa's new GPRS data acquisition solution, which requires only a few clicks of the mouse to get your cellular data acquisition system up and running.

All-in-one design saves on deployment and troubleshooting time.
The ioLogik W5300 series combines the functions of a GPRS modem, I/O controller, and data logger, so that users do not need to buy or maintain separate devices, which lowers the total cost of deployment and troubleshooting. In addition, users can benefit from the easy-to-use design. Just type in the APN (access point name) and password to gain access to the network, and you will be logged in to the GPRS network when you turn on the power.

Zero programming for data acquisition and control.
Using the ioLogik W5300 requires no programming knowledge. Instead users make use of an intuitive IF-THEN-ELSE logic to configure settings and set up different kinds of alarms. For example, email alarms, short message alarms, and SNMP trap alarms can be set up with just a few clicks of the mouse, saving a huge amount of time on programming and maintenance.

Report by exception keeps connection time to a minimum.
When using GPRS for data acquisition, one of the biggest concerns is keeping the monthly cellular phone bill to a minimum. Cellular charges are based on the number of packets that are transmitted. Compared with the traditional polling structure for data acquisition, Moxa's active, report by exception approach reduces the amount of data that is transmitted, and consequently your monthly charges will also be reduced. The ioLogik W5300 series fully utilizes the so-called "push technology" to minimize online time.

Active OPC Server's auto-tag generation makes integration
  with SCADA easy.
Moxa's Active OPC Server needs just three steps to generate tags used for monitoring purposes:
Step 1: Enter IP address
Step 2: Select channels for
tag creation
Step 3: Press create tags
